Hi, I'm Bob Eggleton and this is my painting and "life in general blog" but mostly paintings. Usually they're for sale. Anyway, if you like something contact me at zillabob@cox.net and ENJOY!!

I am a Hugo award-winning fantasy/SF artist who works on both publishing projects and film concept work(such as Jimmy Neutron and most recently, The Ant Bully) but I have a passion for landscape work, small paintings and exploring the properties of paint. This blog will mostly showcase my "painting-for-the-day" as kind of a personal voyage. I'll also be inserting sketches, photos and ideas of projects I am working on, that I can, when I can, so look for those every so often(usually as paint is drying!)

If a Dragon lands in the forest, does it make a sound?

The Forest Dragon(oils, 8x10, SOLD!) This was done for a study for a much bigger painting. Such studies are good when doing larger canvases which this will be. Lots of texture and some impasto around the head. I spent a bit more time on this than I normally spend but I had to get a dynamic going and make that work all over the painting. The idea is to make a Hudson River type work, but with a dragon element and make the dragon look somewhat at rest and just part of the scenery.

Hey Bob, thanks for checking out my site......I really like some of those recent dragons you've done, as well as some of your dinosaurs and prehistoric landscapes. Also some of those winter New England landscapes were really beautiful.

It's Camouflage Dragon!!

Aahhh Grass hoppa, the dragon can leave only when he can walk across the canvas without leaving a wrinkle.

Seriously, a lovely melding of the two subjects.

I still cannot believe you guys can paint in such a small scale. Beautiful.

Jared-thanks! I'm going to be visiting alot more sites too!

Annie-again, thanks so much. Means alot. This is one I really want to do, as it seems more out of the "typical" genre dragon like I did before.
