Name:
Location: New England, United States

I am a Hugo award-winning fantasy/SF artist who works on both publishing projects and film concept work(such as Jimmy Neutron and most recently, The Ant Bully) but I have a passion for landscape work, small paintings and exploring the properties of paint. This blog will mostly showcase my "painting-for-the-day" as kind of a personal voyage. I'll also be inserting sketches, photos and ideas of projects I am working on, that I can, when I can, so look for those every so often(usually as paint is drying!)

Winter Art Sale!!!!

I have not had a sale in a awhile but, I did find some oldies but goodies and some oddities....as always unframed UNLESS specified and, the price DOES NOT include shipping.

This one was for a Tor Book from 1988 or so, I can't for the life of me remember the title. Anyway, it was kind of Lovecraftian/Quatermassian in the idea of alien life forms in the water of a quiet New England town. It's acrylics and is 19 x 26.5 inches. $600.

This was done for the SFBC for an edition of FOUNDATION AND EARTH by Isaac Asimov about 20 years ago. It was their idea of a reflected earth and moon in the space helmet.  Acrylics on board, 17.5 x 24 inches.  $750.

"All That JAZZ". Here's a strange piece I did in 1983 to show what I could do as an illustrator.  It's about 15 x15 inches. Fun piece still...Acrylic wash on board with airbrush and ink. $250. For the musician in your life. Unframed.

Own a piece of The Shat. This was done as part of the art and design for William Shatner's 1996 book MAN O'WAR. The art dept at Berkley Books designed what they wanted me to paint and I did it. The kick was it was for book by The Shat himself. Shat himself? Ooops. Anyway.  Acrylics on board about  10 x25 inches.$350. Unframed...Makes a nice design for the creative framer.

Here is a special piece. For the Baen Books release of a Bob Shaw book ORBITSVILLE about life inside a giant Dyson Sphere. Great detail in this, I still like it to this day. Has a couple of "frisket paper" lines which are only visible if you look at the art from an angle.  21 x27 inches. Unframed. $1400 SOLD

"Beggars Banquet" for the Fanuihl Dragon series for Ace Books by Dan Hood. This one is quite large-framed and matted,  image size is about 16 x 26 with 4 inches of mat and frame around that so do the math. This will be a shipping fee for sure. A really nice piece. $2000.More photos on request for this one.

"The Mother of Storms" by John Barnes, Tor Books 1993(?). A big exercise in airbrush of a storm system. Acrylics on Illustration board, 18 x28 inches. $650.SOLD

For a horror book by Ray Garton by Subterranean Press. KInd of a quick piece but fun. 14 x17 inches on canvas, 2004. $450.SOLD

"Zombie Otaku". 9 x12 painting for a themed show on zombies. $160 SOLD
