I am a Hugo award-winning fantasy/SF artist who works on both publishing projects and film concept work(such as Jimmy Neutron and most recently, The Ant Bully) but I have a passion for landscape work, small paintings and exploring the properties of paint. This blog will mostly showcase my "painting-for-the-day" as kind of a personal voyage. I'll also be inserting sketches,photos and ideas of projects I am working on, that I can, when I can, so look for those every so often(usually as paint is drying!)

Some drawings.....

 Termite Bianca. 

An Italian space heroine, I did this for an art book published there by her creator Marco Bianchi. The drawing is matted and 18x 24 inches total. Conte on grey paper: $130 SOLD.
 Harryhausen Rex

A drawing done in the spirit of how dinosaurs SHOULD have looked, sort of the way Ray Harryhausen portrayed them.  This is conte and chalk on grey paper, 19 x25 inches total paper size. $160.SOLD

Those are truly fantastic, Bob. I really like the technique of using the darker paper and using white as well as darker pencil. It gives both images a nice dimension. They seem to hover over the page.
