Bob's ART du Jour

Hi, I'm Bob Eggleton and this is my painting and "life in general blog" but mostly paintings. Usually they're for sale. Anyway, if you like something contact me at zillabob@cox.net and ENJOY!!

Name:
Location: New England, United States

I am a Hugo award-winning fantasy/SF artist who works on both publishing projects and film concept work(such as Jimmy Neutron and most recently, The Ant Bully) but I have a passion for landscape work, small paintings and exploring the properties of paint. This blog will mostly showcase my "painting-for-the-day" as kind of a personal voyage. I'll also be inserting sketches, photos and ideas of projects I am working on, that I can, when I can, so look for those every so often(usually as paint is drying!)

I took a break...

It's been awhile indeed it has. Got very busy with adminstrative stuff and, minor but painful back injury problems coupled with, we found, high blood pressure. All the bloodwork is fine. But stress and anxiety of this past few months have created some higher-than-usual blood pressure. All being dealt with.

More paintings and posts soon.

Hi Bob,

Totally off-topic, but you recently did a cover for Poul Anderson's "Call Me Joe" I believe.
According to io9
http://io9.com/5390226/did-james-cameron-rip-off-poul-andersons-novella

the upcoming James Cameron movie Avatar contains major elements of the Poul Anderson novella. (Trailers look great for the movie.)

Great tour of your artwork at Boskone this year!

Yeah, I found earlier this year how painful even minor back injuries can be. I skidded across the kitchen floor on water I had spilled myself, so I had no one else to blame, but Lordy, it took a week of ice packs and Advil before I was mostly back to normal.

Heel well, Bob!

Hey Bob,
Welcome to my world, lol. I've had the back problems for about 10 years now, and some days it is a nightmare working at the computer and drawing table. The VA gives me powerful meds for it, but when I take them, I can't work.
I developed High Blood Pressure several years ago. If you keep your diet good and walk alot, that will help but there is nothing to make it go away once you have it. Also in a couple of years you will probably get ED from the meds you have to take. That is a real kick in the arshe if you have a mate.
I wish you well, and remember the proper diet will really help, and don't forget to exercise or walk. I love your work.

Feel better Bob!!! I just got a check up and luckily my BP is still perfect. Maybe because I haven't used salt since I was 16. Whatever the reason I'm not complaining! BTW. I'm gonna be in your neck of the woods next April

Any chance you'll be there?
