Location: New England, United States

I am a Hugo award-winning fantasy/SF artist who works on both publishing projects and film concept work(such as Jimmy Neutron and most recently, The Ant Bully) but I have a passion for landscape work, small paintings and exploring the properties of paint. This blog will mostly showcase my "painting-for-the-day" as kind of a personal voyage. I'll also be inserting sketches, photos and ideas of projects I am working on, that I can, when I can, so look for those every so often(usually as paint is drying!)

Weather on my mind...

In a Fog(8x10,oils, SOLD)It Could be Bad(8x10,oils, SOLD)
I've been in a fog myself with allergies and, the weather is making alot of news lately. I did the top painting, as an exercise in cloud patterns and waves. Just sort of came out of me and I really enjoyed it-I like the hints of green. Constable painted alot of clouds all the time, and made an art of just clouds! The bottom image is again, my fascination and dreams about tornadoes. And my recent chats with John Brosio about the subject. I'm still really astonished how he emailed me, after I had a dream that night about tornadoes, and I'd admired his work for years but hadn't plucked up the guts to drop him a line.
